"The Beat"
Target Market began in earnest during the summer of 2003. After a series of line-up changes, these St. Louis-natives regrouped, and came together to write and record the Concealer EP, which was released in late 2004 on St. Louis's Aim and Fire Records. In support of the album, the band toured for two weeks, playing to audiences across the Midwest and Southeast. Along the way the band were able to play in support of such national touring acts such as So Many Dynamos, Koufax, Maritime, Cinemechanica, Murder by Death and Milemarker.
In early 2006, Target Market began writing their first full-length record, No Thrills, which was released by Minneapolis label Afternoon Records in December 2006 (Target Market is the first non-Minneapolis-based band to sign to Afternoon Records). During the recording of the album the band was able to build upon and expand their sound, developing it, tightening it, and eventually bringing it to new heights. Every track on the album has a unique feel to it, and yet, as a whole, sounds as if each of the songs were written to fit together as one cohesive, complete sonic vision. No Thrills, in the end, it ultimately transcends its title, proving to be exhilarating from start to finish. Target Market plan to tour extensively behind No Thrills, hopefully bringing their new sound, new record and energetic live show to new audiences and cities.
