Smother gave Hello Blue's What It Takes To Wake Up a great review.
Check it:

"Around 2000, Hello Blue was formed by two best friends who had been writing music together for several years already. Never relinquishing an iota of melody, Hello Blue is one of those indie pop-rock outfits that you instantly pay attention to. Sounding a bit like older Get Up Kids, Hello Blue is a raw emotional juggernaut that percolates harmonies and intelligent rhythms that would make bands like the Promise Ring and Braid blush with anxiety. Beautiful emo rock doesn't get much better."

October 4, 2005

A lot has happened this past month. Michael, Bryan and I all went out to the CMJ Music Festival in New York Sept 14-17. We had a great time, met loads of really cool people, learned the subway system (in Manhatten) and got to see a handful of our favorite bands.

SSR001 went to radio on Sept 20th and is doing very well. Thanks to all of the cool stations that are playing those guys.

Along the same lines, Hello Blue's What it Takes to Wake Up is going to radio on October 17th, so listen to all of your local college radio stations (even request them if you are so inclined). This is an amazing record and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Also, all of the Cheapos in the world have awesome Hello Blue displays, check them out next time you're out.

All of our bands are playing a slew of shows over October, so be sure to visit our shows page to see when youÕre scheduled to rock out.

Superdanger's full-length grows ever-closer to completion and it sounds amazing. Look forward to December.

Both of the new releases by Linus and the Squareshooters are now available on iTunes. Tune in to your favorite college radio station this fall, because the following artists will be rocking them: the Squarshooters (Sept. 20), Hello Blue (Oct. 3), Look Down (Nov. 7), Superdanger (Dec. 5).

August 23, 2005

Check out the Releases page, for there is a new release - a re-release actually: Linus, one of my favorite local bands of all time. They were voted "Best Teen Artist of 2001" by the City Pages (read the article here). It's a great record, I recommend getting into it.

In other news, C-Section has changed their band name to Battle Royale. A name referencing an old Japanese film where children are placed on an island to battle each other to the death, with only their cunning to protect them - pretty cool huh?

Afternoon Records - Chicago is getting started. Brita Thompson and Jacob Huelster are the two fine people in charge down there. Expect great things.

Superdanger will be playing an all ages show this Thursday (the 25th) at the Triple Rock with Koufax. Their record is nearing completion. We expect to have it out the first week of December.

Hello from Michigan State University's Library. I have stolen their internet and there is nothing they can do about it. Aneuretical is currently on tour, bringing the indie-rock sound to the masses. However, Hello Blue is home, bringing the indie-rock to you. They are playing multiple times this week, therefore you have no excuse not to go hang out with them. They just played on RadioK's Off the Record last week, and will be openning for Unwed Sailor on the 23rd.
